Should Smoking Be Banned Completely Essay Definition

...Biology 101 Should Cigarette Smoking Be Banned? Should there be a ban on cigarette smoking in the United States? Since cigarettes were introduced to Americans, questions have been raised concerning the legality of smoking and if it should be allowed everyone, in public places, or not at all. Recently, with the increase knowledge in cost and healthcare, the controversy with cigarette smoking has significantly risen. Across the country, states have bannedsmoking in public areas and inside buildings. Some citizens agree with the new laws, while others feel it is a violation of rights. Continuing to ban cigarettes in public areas and buildings, but allowing smoking in designated areas, such as personal vehicles and homes, is a compromise towards finding the correct resolution of this controversy. From the smoker’s perspective, two reasons cigarette smokingshould not be completelybanned from society are the addictive qualities being experienced by long term users and the positive effect on the economy. Early studies have shown banning smoking all together does not necessarily effect the government on significant levels; instead, businesses, such as hotels, bars and restaurants, suffer more from the ban. Banning is not a solution as we know smoking habits get developed throughout several years and can't be corrected in an overnight decision of the government, many people are addicted to it. Instead, an alternative should be thought of which should be less harmful and easily available in the market. And steps should be taken to curb smoking habits in the children at a young age.

Advertisements by superstars should be banned. Awareness campaigns in schools and colleges can contribute.

These type of addictions spoils their life career and also with them their families suffer a lot. Youths think that this is something very thrilling that I am doing but sincerely I want to request them that please don't go for this. We have lot more good things to do and develop in our life. This also can cause heart and lung diseases in future so yes I think that smoking must be banned completely.

In my opinion, smoking should not be banned completely because all the consumers are aware of the consequences of smoking as it is clearly written on the packet that "SMOKING CAUSES CANCER", so no one is hiding anything about its results. It is right of the consumer to choose whether to buy it or not. We cannot force them to quit smoking because we do not like it.

To reduce its effect on other person who are not smoking, government has already imposed several laws that restrict smoking in public places. I think those who are less than 18 and unaware about the consequences of smoking, should not be allowed to smoke.

In my opinion, smoking must be banned completely because every year a lot of people are dying because of smoking. According to doctors if you are in a group of smokers, you have 20% chances of suffering from passive cancer even if you do not smoke. So smoking has become a serious problem for those people also who do not smoke but live in the vicinity of smokers. Smoking in the society also motivates to the younger generation who are unaware of its repercussions.

More over government is getting huge revenue by this, once government banned smoking Indian economy will get imbalance this will cause a huge damage to the government by this every individual will have to suffer instead of banning smoking government should give the awareness to the people by consuming smoking how much damage your body getting how people suffer by Illness by preparing some documentary films. If no consumer is buying then gradually the seller stop selling by this way we can ban the smoking.

Hellow everyone!

I'm in the favour of smoking should be banned. It affects the new generation because they think that smoking is the fashion nowadays. We have to aware students and childrens that smoking is injurious to health. It may create heart problems may affect lever and emiune system. Parents should aware their children about the harmful affects of smoking like lung cancer and cancers. Smoking affects the cigarette user but also of the nearby people. Smoking should be banned in India by the government. The government should work with social workers to decrease the rate of consumers of cigarettes by the distribution of nicotine by any means.

Nowadays, young generation including school college students, to smoke feel as a fashion style. Many of them have not addicted but for style they do.

First we have to ban films, advertisements that focus on consumption of tobacco.

Aware people about health consciousness.

Banning is not correct step, we have to divert their mindset.

Let me start with an example of ITC limited.

The 80% of the production of cigarettes by ITC is sold in India while only 20% is exported. Revenue of the company used to be the only source until it diverse into another business.

The profit from this sector was so huge that the company sustained 110 years and employment generation capabilities and farmers in the Gujarat charotar region has been famous for this the golden leaf.

So until you find some alternative to this it would be harmful to economy and industry. Where not only the smoker will be affected but also non-smoker.

First of all, as you all know smoking is injurious to health, It may lead to lung cancer and many other diseases.

It not only affects the person who smokes but more than the person who surrounded around the smoking person. So yes smoking should be banned completely but slowly not instantly because so many are addicted to smoke. So if we instantly banned smoking they use another thing to fulfill their needs. And the most important thing banned completely means banned in all ways that no any single piece of cigarette should be sold in an illegal way. As we all know in India, anything that is banned, it is being sold in somewhere in an illegal way. So government has to take proper action against this if any.

According to me, smoking should not be completely banned in India. Any instant decision leads to an imbalance in the society. Tobacco industry generates a large no. Of employment. As well as it is a great source of revenue for the government. This generated revenue is then used for the building of infrastructure, providing healthcare facilities for free of cost and many more things. Banning of this industry completely will result in loss of employment which will then impact the lives of many people. For eg: we can see the result of banning alcohol in Bihar. The government faced a huge loss in its fiscal and so no improvement in infrastructure can be seen in the past years. So instead of banning it completely, the government should take other measures to spread awareness among the people. It can set an age bar for smoking as well as set the limit for no of cigarette packets a person can buy monthly. The government Should 1st think about the various ways of generating employment and then eventually ban these tobacco industries.

Yes, it should be banned completely. Everyone is aware of the health-related hazards caused by smoking. The argument for its continuation according to me comes as totally baseless. There are thousands of avenues to generate income and employment for people other than cigarette production. And then nothing is more valuable than life. Yes, banning it also won't be easy as people who are addicted to smoking would find it hard to leave the addiction behind. The Government needs to start with wide-spread awareness campaigns and distribution of addiction replacing adhesives. So, in the end, smoking must be completely banned and in place of it, good habits should be promoted.

Hello everyone,

As most of my friends share their views on this topic and I appreciate them for their fantastic thought. As we all know that smoking leads to death so from my point of view, increase in rate of cigarette, tobacco etc is not a proper way. It is a cause of very harmful effect since, smoking makes people addict and if an addict person can't buy his needful things then he can do anything for getting those things.

Our country is the only country where people of so many religions lives and they all have their different will powers. If smokers decided by their will power that smoking is bad or injurious for them then they can stopped it completely.

So I requested to all the people of my country to give a right direction to such type of people who smoke or eating tobacco. I know it's very difficult but we have to do this social work for saving our nation.

Good morning friends,

First of all, I would like to thanks to all my friends for their wonderful experience. I completely agree with this topic that smoking should be banned completely. But not very instant. It should be banned but in a very slow process because it will lead to addiction of other products that are more harmful than cigrattes. In India all of us know that instantly ban leads to strikes also. Smoking cause lungs and throat cancer and also it makes tar in lungs which leads to death also.

It is a duty of public also to quit this because they don't think while smoking that what affects their family after his death. It not only affects the smokers but also affects the people who are nearby.

So govt should aware the public about the bad effects of smoking and should increase the price of cigrattes, tobacco and all.

Thank you.

If you smoke it will cause pollution if possible please don't smoke in public places. So smoking should be banned completely but not suddenly slowly do this process because if any case government will ban the smoking suddenly. There are some chances of addiction the drugs. Passive smoking is very dangerous for the ones who live near chain smokers. In today's world it's important to create awareness. We should first create awareness among the people then the hush created can be avoided. Proper measures should be taken for this.

Smoking should not be banned. If you choose to go into a private establishment that allows smoking, then you do so knowing that it is allowed. It needs to be up to the business owners at their sole discretion. An example: where I live, there are 2 bars across the street from each other. Both of their food is ok. But the bar that allows smoking does 40%more in sales each month. Why is that? People don't like to go to a business that they plan to be at for a while only to have to go outside to smoke. So why should every business be forced to take a 40% loss in sales just to appease a group that everyone is tired of hearing anyway?

And if we ban smoking it will at least help the beginners get rid of from it. But on the other hand, if we ban smoking totally why the people who are so much addicted to it may try to come crime or do drug deals which will lead to problems in our country and will ruin their life.

Hello friends,

In my view, there should a ban on smoking as it is harmful not only to the person consuming it but also to passive smokers (indirect smokers). The main reason behind not putting a ban is that the government gets revenue from the sale of cigarettes. Irrespective of showing in advertisements the long lasting effect of smoking, people still use it as a source of refreshment. But I think smoking cannot be completely banned as the real effort should come from public by quitting it. The government has made efforts to increase the rate of tax on tobacco, cigarettes to discourage the usage. Complete ban is not possible as levying restrictions may result in people resorting to drugs, which is again a headache for government as even students are addicts.

So in conclusion, the real effort should be from the part of public to get rigid of this cancer causing smoke.

Thank you.

Anyone who claims to get pleasure or claims that smoking is enjoyable I believe are afraid to face a future without them. This is what an addiction does it creates a dependence which we feel will make life terrible once removed and creates a false security. We all seen or experienced the anguish expressed and how hard it was to wean the bottle and security blanket away. We were born to breathe fresh air and eat and drink to survive, we were not born to inhale toxins by choice and if we had the choice, no peer pressures or stimulants or ads to entice just plain choice all over again we would not voluntarily walk into the world of coughs and cancers and COPD and throwing away looks and money to enslave ourselves to a slow death, giving up is hard but once over the giving up lets be honest there is no going back unless not fully recovered from the addiction. I was a former smoker and would never go back and would never want to go through quitting again, once quit stays quit only person or fault for going back is you.

It absolutely infuriates me that myself and others, including pregnant women and innocent children, have to suffer the ill effects of second-hand smoke when out in public. I work in a very congested city centre, it is very rare for me to make it to and from work without having to breathe in someone's cigarette smoke. I find my daily commute turns into a game of dodge the smoker. Sometimes I find myself on a narrow pedestrian walkway with 2 or 3 smokers in front of me, how do I get around that?

I take great pride in my health. I might as well be a smoker myself. They should ban smoking altogether. Allowed only in the home, or maybe a large green house can be constructed in every city where 100s of smokers can all go together and speed up their inevitable demise. I think health organizations need to reach out to smokers more to help them quit for good.

Maybe smokers are just part of a mass depopulation plan. After all, they're slowly killing everyone around them, in public and in their own homes. Maybe it will always be this way. I believe people that smoke have broken souls, they need therapy, forget to stop smoking. Anyway, what a waste of my time writing all of this, nothing will change anyway. BUT ONE CAN DREAM OF A BETTER WORLD.

As we all know smoking is a gradual death, means it kills not only the smokers but the people who live around them,

Actually why does some youths get addict to such bad things, main reason beyond this can be parents who have been addicted in cigarette and smokes in front of their children, it will affect children blood in smokes and then at the age of adult they are willing to smoke because their blood already has affected by smokers.

Smoking can be band if public help government and many ways are here how to band cigarette.

1. Impose higher tax on companies, shops. (retailer and whole seller).
2. Restrictions.
3. Awareness of bad effects.
4. Providing job opportunity for addicted people.
5. Helping them to how to gets out of this hell (advice them).

So if we ban it all of a sudden there is a chance of getting into the drug consumption by them and many poor people will lose their employment. So it should be a slow process. First, create awareness among the people and then go with ban on some companies which effects very badly and then give a notice that the govt is going to ban it very soon. Although, smoking not only affecting our health but also our culture too. Many Students under the age of 18 are also active smokers, they attracted towards this habit from because of movies, they thought smoking as status symbol, while they feel adulthood with them. Smoking/Cigarettes to be completely ban although this will effect the chain smoker but it should be banned in phase manner. Firstly, the production to be restricted. Shop selling cigrettes to be registered so that its easy availability to be restricted. Because of easy availability of cigarettes in common places smoking has been increasing a lot and causing serious health issues to Indians.

Yes, I agree with the statement, we should have to ban the smoking in India. As we know that it does not only effect the smoker health it also effecting the surrounding persons. If one active smoker is a friend of someone then there are a lot of chances to change that friend as a passive smoker and slowly to active smoker also. Smoking is very dangerous to health and leads to reduce the person life period. If pregnant women is an active smoker, its results in her baby body growth even before he/she come to this world. Government should have to make awareness seminars and advertisements to ban this smoking completely.

If we ask smokers why they are addict to smoking? They mostly reply that They are tired and by smoking, they are becoming free from it. Whenever they are in a state of unwillingness they will go for smoking and take some relaxation from it and they try to divert from that situation.

As of my experience, I asked so many people why they are smoking and even I asked educated person also they replied the same thing. And I had given an advise to them that try to stop smoking it will results you and your family in brighter. Some of them are followed and some not but I will continue the same thing whenever I find smoker.

So, the one's who are smoking for their pleasure, it is becoming dangerous for others along with them. Smoking effects the health and thus effects the development, power and youth of the country.
